Working with hexadecimal values for colour

You can view colors as hexadecimal values in the Info palette. In addition, you can copy colors as hexadecimal values to the Clipboard and paste them into an HTML document.

Viewing hexadecimal values for colors in the Info palette

In Photoshop, hexadecimal values for colors are displayed in the Info palette when you select Web Color Style for 1 or both color readouts. In ImageReady, hexadecimal values for colors are displayed automatically in the right side of the Info palette, side by side to RGB color values. The Photoshop and ImageReady Info palettes also display other data, depending on the tool beingness used.

To view hexadecimal color values in the Info palette:

1 Choose Window > Info or click the Info palette tab to view the palette.

2 (Photoshop) Choose Palette Options from the palette bill of fare. Under Start Color Readout or Second Color Readout, choose Web Colour from the Fashion carte and click OK.

3 Position the pointer over the color yous desire to view hexadecimal values for.

Copying colors as hexadecimal values

You can re-create colors as hexadecimal values from files in Photoshop or ImageReady, using the context card with the eyedropper tool, or using carte du jour commands. The selected color is copied to the Clipboard as a the HTML Color attribute with the hexadecimal value (Colour=#XXYYZZ). To paste the colour into an HTML file, choose Edit > Paste with the HTML file displayed in your HTML editing application.

To re-create a color as a hexadecimal value using carte du jour commands:

Choose Copy Color Every bit HTML from the Color palette menu.
